Thanks to Rogers Wireless and The Rogers Picnic, Mobile Jam Fest, the world's largest youth creativity festival, in partnership with REMG and Embrace, and are setting up for another year of ground breaking mobile engagement. MJF will be conducting another mobile film and photo contest during the day long festival, http://rogerspicnic.com/ On July 20, 2008, at the historic Fort York, T Animal Collective, Cat Power, Vampire Weekend, Dizzee Rascal, Tokyo Police Club, Born Ruffians, Chromeo, the Carps, and only-in-Canada headliners Alexisonfire side project City and Colour will become the back drop for films and photography created by audience members, and their mobile "video" phones.
During the day long event MJF will be hosting film camps on mobile filmmaking. Audience filmmaking teams will then be provided a mobile "video" phone, courtesy of Nokia, and an hour to create, and direct their one min films or photography. Once each team has finished shooting their films, they will be given an hour to edit them using one of the MJF editing stations. MJF staff will be there to guide the filmmakers/photographers during this incredible process. The winning filmmaker or team will receive an Nokia N95 8GB Phone, one of the latest 3G phones offered by Rogers, and tickets to the MJF launch party. All prizing will be awarded at the MJF Launch Party.

Once the sun goes down the best films will be screened at the MJF tent where the audience will be able to view and vote for their favorite film. Talk about user-generated!
