MJF goes Mobile with The Roots there to help

Mobile Jam Fest, the world's largest youth creativity festival, in partnership with REMG and Embrace, will be conducting mobile film camps and competition during the day long festival, http://rogerspicnic.com/ . On July 29, 2007, at the historic Fort York, The Roots, Bedouin Soundclash, Bad Brains, Tegan & Sara, The Dears, The New Pornographers, Little Brother, and Apostle of Hustle will become the back drop for films created by audience members, and their mobile "video" phones.

During the day long event MJF will be hosting 30 Min film camps, every 30 mins, on mobile "phone" filmmaking. Audience filmmaking teams will then be provided a mobile "video" phone, courtesy of Nokia, and an hour to create, and direct their one min films. Once each team has finished shooting their films, they will be given an hour to edit them using one of the MJF editing stations. MJF staff will be there to guide the filmmakers during this incredible process. The winning filmmaker or team will receive and Xbox 360, and tickets to the MJF launch party. All prizing will be awarded at the MJF Launch Party.

Look out for the MJF tent! Inside you will find film schools, editing stations, and plasma screens, to watch the teams edit live!

Once the sun goes down the best films will be screened at the MJF tent where the audience will be able to view and vote for their favorite film. Talk about user-generated!

The winning filmmaker or team will receive and Xbox 360, and tickets to the MJF launch party. All films will then be placed into MJF starting September 4th for your chance to win an Xbox 360 and tuition prizing.
